Skip verdicts

Which Spider-Man movies can you skip?

Short version: the ones without Spider-Man in them. Longer version below — every Spider-Man-adjacent release, judged, with the reason printed next to the ruling.

Sony's corner of the Spider-Man rights produced an entire cinematic universe that exists around the character rather than with him. None of it is homework for the MCU road or for No Way Home — the one connection between the two universes amounts to a single skippable post-credits scene. That is why the whole Sony line ships with the same ruling here: watch it for fun if the trailers work on you, but the checklist will never ask you to.

Inside the animated line, the maths is different. Into the Spider-Verse and Across the Spider-Verse are required viewing on the main roadmap — not for continuity (they run in their own universe) but for the idea that powers the entire modern multiverse cycle. Beyond the Spider-Verse stays unwatched by biology rather than opinion: it opens June 18, 2027, and the moment it does, it joins the roadmap automatically as the finale.

Full criteria live on the methodology page; the main order, with every required entry and its stop points, is on the Spider-Man watch order page.
